CLINTON, DEPASS PACE OWLS AT JACK PYRAH INVITATIONAL

HAVERFORD, PA -- Senior Rachel Clinton met an ECAC standard in winning the 55m hurdles in a time of 8.12 as the Owls opened their season at the Jack Pyrah Invitational on Sunday. Clinton also placed third in the 55m dash (7.43), while freshman Shanice DePass kicked off her collegiate career by winning the 800m in a time of 2:26.51. The event was hosted by Villanova and held at Haverford College.
Freshman Delicia Sample also had an impressive start to her career as she won the 800m in a time of 1:21.75. Sophomore Tynecia Gardner finished second in the 300m (41.56), while senior Jessica Dunston placed second in the 55m hurdles in 8.31. Junior Aisha Raheem (2:27.13) finished second in the 800m, edging freshman teammate Mary Claire Curran (2:27.14) by .01 seconds.
Temple also had a solid showing in the jumps, as sophomore Erin Davis finished second in the high jump by clearing 5'1". Freshman Judy Wong finished second in the long jump with a leap of 15'9".
The Owls return to action on Saturday at the Ursinus Classic.
