PHILADELPHIA -- Senior goalkeeper Patrick Hannigan is one of four Temple University men's soccer players to be named to the 2004 NSCAA All-Middle Atlantic Region Team. Hannigan, a first team selection, was joined by junior sweeper back Joe Brocker, a second team honoree, and senior midfielder Steven Wacker and junior midfielder Tony Donatelli, who both earned spots on the third team.
Hannigan, named Atlantic 10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and Soccer Seven Player of the Year for the second straight season, led the Owls to a 12-8-2 record and a berth in the A-10 Championship match. The Philadelphia native compiled a 1.00 goals against averaged and a league-leading eight shutouts.
Brocker, a key to the Temple defense as its lead back, joins Hannigan as a two-time all-Region honoree. Wacker, a Second Team Academic All-America selection, capped a fine career with a stellar senior campaign with a career-best eight points (two goals, four assists). Donatelli led the Soccer Seven in scoring with six goals and nine assists for 21 points. All four Owls earned spots on the all-Soccer Seven team. Hannigan, Brocker and Wacker were also named first team all-Atlantic 10 while Donatelli was a second team all-A-10 pick.
