WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS FINISHES THIRD AT MARYLAND QUAD MEET

Senior Paige Ozaroski, junior captain Erin Davis, junior Alexis Zafferes, and sophomore Lindsey Stern all significantly contributed to the Owl effort as they placed within the top 10 finishers in their individual events. On uneven bars Davis placed fifth with a 9.750, while Stern tied Towson's Nicole Groccia for eighth place with a score of 9.725. The uneven bar scores mark a career high for both Davis and Stern. Ozaroski finished in seventh place on beam with a 9.725 score. Zafferes placed eighth on vault with a 9.725 score.
On every piece of apparatus, except bars, Maryland placed first and second. Only Towson's Juliya Kovaliova squeezed into a top position by finishing first on bars with a score of 9.925.
The Temple women's gymnastics team will next compete at home in McGonigle Hall on Thursday, February 5 against city rival Penn. The meet is the first of only three home meets for the women's gymnastics team.
