ZAFFERES LEADS OWLS TO SECOND PLACE FINISH AT TOWSON INVITATIONAL

TOWSON, MD -- Junior Alexis Zafferes finished third on both vault and floor to lead the women's gymnastics team to a second-place finish at the 19th Annual Towson University Invitational on Friday, February 13. The Owls placed second in the meet with a 189.825 score behind host Towson, who won the meet with a 194.925 score. Rhode Island finished third with a 189.375.

Zafferes nailed her vault routine to score a 9.775 and place third. On floor Zafferes earned a personal-best 9.825 score and tied three Towson gymnasts for third-place.

Senior Paige Ozaroski, the only other Owl to place in the top five finishers on any apparatus, provided a strong performance on bars. Ozaroski placed third with a 9.725 score.

CN8 taped the meet and will broadcast it on Saturday, February 21 at 5:00 p.m.

The women's gymnastics team is next in action on February 21 at New Hampshire.
