WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS TAKES THIRD AT ATLANTIC 10 INVITATIONAL

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sophomore Lindsey Stern finished second in the all-around competition as the Temple women's gymnastics team placed third behind host George Washington and Rhode Island at the Atlantic 10 Invitational tri-meet. In their final regular season meet the Owls placed third with a 191.600 score. George Washington won the competition with a 195.200 score, while Rhode Island placed second with a 192.350 score.

Stern placed in the top fifteen on every piece of apparatus. Stern's best finish came on beam, as she scored a 9.675 to place seventh

Senior Paige Ozaroski and junior Alexis Zafferes provided the best individual finishes for the Owls. On vault Zafferes took fourth place with a 9.750. Zafferes also picked up a third place finish on bars by scoring a 9.825 in the event. Senior Paige Ozaroski contributed to the Owl effort by placing fourth on beam with a 9.750.

George Washington swept the top three spots on every piece of apparatus, except on beam. Rhode Island broke the Colonial's winning streak as Emily Domenick placed second on beam with a 9.800 score.

Despite the third place finish, the Owls hope to continue their season by advancing to the USAG National Gymnstics Tournament April 7-10 in Denton, Texsas. Team bids to the post-season tournament will be revealed next week.
