PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's tennis team won its second straight match, defeating visiting Monmouth, 6-0, Tuesday at the Temple Pavillion. The Owls are now 2-3 on the season.
The Owls won four of the five single smatches played in straight sets as Matt Struble, Elad Ziv, Jon Sy and James Logan won at three through six, respectively. For Ziv, it wahis first singles win of the season.
Tyler Wynne completed the singles sweep with a come-from-behind 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 three-set win at number one singles. Yhonny Murray did not play his second singles match as Temple had already clinched the team win.
Murray, however, did team with Wynne to post an 8-2 win at first doubles. Sy and Ziv won with an identical 8-2 score at the number two doubles position while Logan and Struble completed the Owl sweep with an 8-1 victory at third doubles.
The Owls next play at Saint Joseph's on March 26 (2:00 p.m.).
