PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's tennis team travelled to cross-town rival Saint Joseph's and had its two-match win streak halted. The Owls dropped a 4-2 decision to the host Hawks Friday afternoon.
Yhonny Murray amd James Logan picked up the wins for Temple at second and sixth singles, respectively. Murray came from behind in his match, dropping the first set, to Chris Spencer, 7-6. He then posted a 6-3 win in the second set and a thrilling 7-5 victory in the third set to take the match. Logan defeated Bob Cappelli, 7-5, 6-1.
The teams did not compete in doubles.
The Owls, which travel to La Salle on Monday, fall to 2-4 on the season. SJU improves to 7-6.
