THREE EARN USAG ALL-AMERICAN HONORS AS WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS TAKES FOURTH AT USAG CHAMPIONSHIPS

Centenary College scored a 193.500 to defeat seven-time USA Gymnastics team champion Texas Women's University in the team finals. Texas Women's finished second with a 192.600 score, while University of California at Davis placed third with a 192.100 score. The Owls matched their 2003 performance by finishing fourth in the team competition.
Temple's young floor exercise team led the Cherry and White squad as every member scored at least a 9.70 in the event during the team competition. Junior Cheryl Cerminaro scored a team-high 9.80 on floor, while teammates Mattocks, junior Lyndsey Stern and freshman Jillian Kornett and Sarah Liebowitz closely followed.
Mattocks and Davis emerged as USAG All-Americans on bars in the Individual Event Finals. Mattocks placed third with a 9.525 score, while Davis took seventh with a 9.200 score on the apparatus. Davis earned her second career All-American honor, as she placed eighth on beam in 2003 competition.
Temple vault specialist Zafferes earned her first USAG All-American title, as she placed fourth on the apparatus with a 9.737 score.
At the USA Gymnastics Collegiate National Championships gymnasts earn All-American status placing in the top eight finishers on an apparatus in the Individual Event Finals.
