TEMPLE HONORS ITS BEST AT 2ND ANNUAL BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS

Chan, the 2003 Atlantic 10 Student-Athlete of the Year for Golf and a two-time all-conference selection, owns a 3.73 cumulative grade point average as a management major. Forsythe, who owns the highest winning percentage (83%) in epee in Temple history, has earned a 3.71 cumulative grade point average as a biology major.
Temple Director of Athletics Bill Bradshaw announced that 122 student-athletes were named to the Director's Honor Roll (3.0-3.49 cumulative grade point averages). Temple Senior Vice President Clay Armbrister furthered that list with the addition of 67 student-athletes to the President's Honor Roll (3.50 or above). Armbrister then singled out the Top 10 student-athletes - Samantha Vietry (women's soccer), Stephanie Vietry (women's soccer), Patricia Dalton (women's soccer), Laura Seiverling (women's tennis), Steven Wacker (men's soccer), Ashley Shepps (field hockey), Erin Davis (women's gymnastics), Emily Moller (softball), Jared Davis (football) and Rashida Stamps (women's track) - for the Trustees' Honor Roll.
"The Breakfast of Champions is the perfect way to celebrate as a community what is special about athletics at Temple University," said Bradshaw, who instituted the event in his first year at the school.
Women's track standout Aderonke Adeniyi was recognized for her Academic All-America honor received last summer while Yazid Jackson of the football team and Nicolette Rodgers of the women's crew team were named the recipients of the Temple Teammates Award for Leadership and Community Service.
The women's tennis team won the Top Team GPA Award for the second straight year with an aggregate grade point average of 3.55.
Athletically, four All-Americans, Erin Conroy (field hockey), David Hawkins (men's basketball), Theodore Maes (men's gymnastics) and Nyika White (men's gymnastics)and three A-10 Players of the Year, Danira Penic (women's tennis), Deanna Radcliffe (women's lacrosse) and Patrick Hannigan (men's soccer), were honored. The women's fencing team, the women's basketball team and eight members of the men's gymnastics team were also recognized for participating in the NCAA Tournament.
Fox 29's Don Tollefson, who has been involved with Philadelphia athletics as an television sports anchor for four decades, served as the emcee for this year's Breakfast of Champions.
