ASSISTANT AD ZACH CONEN LEAVES TEMPLE TO ENTER PRIVATE SECTOR

PHILADELPHIA (8/4/04) - Zach Conen, Temple's Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing, Promotions and Ticket Sales for the past five years, has resigned his position with the University to become the Director of of Marketing for LRA Worldwide, a consulting firm for entertainment and sports in Horsham Pa. During Conen's tenure at Temple, home football attendance increased over 20 percent. Innovative promotions under his direction included John Chaney and Hooter the Owl bobble-head dolls, X-Games extreme sport exhibitions, as well as concerts by The Monkees, The Village People, Run D.M.C. and Jessica Simpson. Conen received Temple University's "exemplary Service Award" for 2001. Prior to arriving in Owl Country, Conen was the Director of Ticket Operations for the Reading Phillies and oversaw attendance increases in each of his five seasons with the Double A baseball club. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania in 1993, Conen recently earned a Masters of Business Administration in marketing from Temple's Fox School of Business and Management in May, 2004.
