TEMPLE WOMEN TRAVEL TO LASALLE SEEKING TENTH STRAIGHT WIN ON MONDAY

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women (12-3, 4-0) travel to LaSalle (7-8, 1-3 A-10) on Monday for an Atlantic 10/Big 5 matchup at 1 p.m. The Owls are looking to clinch their tenth-straight win and a share of the 2005 Big 5 Title. A win would put TU tied with Villanova for the city series title. The Owls are 2-0 in Big 5 play, while the Wildcats are 3-1 after losing to Temple on December 21st.
The Owls handled visiting St. Bonaventure, 83-53, at the Third annual Dawn Staley School Day at the Liacouras Center on Thursday afternoon. Candice Dupree recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds in just 21 minutes of action. Kamesha Hairston just missed her second double-double in three games, scoring 16 points and grabbing nine boards, in 15 minutes of play. Freshman Ashley Morris scored a career-high 13 points and Cynthia Jordan chipped in with 12 points and a game-high seven assists with no turnovers.
Dupree leads the way for TU with 15.9 ppg and 9.3 rpg to pace three Owls in double figures. She is followed by Jordan (12.3 ppg, 4.8 apg) and Hairston (11.5 ppg, 5.4 rpg). Ari Moore is averaging 6.1 rpg.
Despite four different Explorers scoring in double digits La Salle dropped its third conference game of the season 64-60 to the Duquesne University Dukes. La Salle was led by Meghan Wilkinson and sophomore Crista Ricketts both finished with 14 points. Marano tallied 13 points in the loss and junior Lamera Ferguson scored a career high 10 points.
LaSalle is led by Ricketts, who is averaging 15.4 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Marano is the only other Explorer that averages in double-figures (11.9 ppg), while Wilkinson leads the teams in assists with 50.
Today also marks the Owls' quest for a Big 5 Title. A win today would put Temple tied with Villanova for the city series title. The Owls are 2-0 in Big 5 play, while the Wildcats are 3-1 after losing to Temple on December 21st.
