PHILADELPHIA - Mike Green, founder and president of Collegiate Consultants on Drugs and Alcohol, will make a presentation on the realities of alcohol use and abuse to Temple University's student-athletes on Monday, January 24, at 7:00 p.m. at McGonigle Hall.

Green, a former NCAA athlete and football coach, will utilize an interactive format to present the workshop. A recognized leader in the field of drug and alcohol awareness, Green has spoken at more than 2000 campuses nationwide over the past 18 years in an effort to make drug and alcohol awareness and education an integral part of student life.

A former defensive lineman, Green played at West Chester University and earned a try-out with the Philadelphia Eagles. He was also a high school athletic director and coached Division II football at his alma mater.

Green serves as a consultant to the student affairs and athletic departments of numerous universities, including Boston College, Brown, Florida State, Penn State, Princeton and Vermont.

At the request of Senator Bill Bradley, Green developed drug and alcohol programs for the New Jersey High Schools. In the non-academic setting, he produced programs for the medical societies of both New Jersey and Virginia, and for professional sports teams including the Philadelphia Flyers. In 1987, Green was chosen to give expert testimony before the United States House of Representatives Select Committee on Narcotics Abuse and Control.
