WOMEN'S TRACK SPLITS SQUAD AT BUCKNELL AND PENN STATE

LEWISBURG, PA -- Freshman Cheryl Anscombe turned in a season best in the 60m (7.99) to lead Temple at the 8th annual Bucknell Bison Open. The Owls also sent several athletes to the Penn State National Invitational in what was a busy weekend for the Cherry and White.
Senior Farren Benson won her heat in the 400m (1:02.05) and senior Tanesha Shelton posted a season-best in the 800m (2:23.17). The 4x400 also finished third in its heat with a time of 4:09.78.
A handful of Owls spent the weekend in State College, Pa. for the Penn State National Open. Senior Rachel Clinton had the top performance against the nation's best, finishing sixth in the 60m hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8.65. The 4x400 relay also had a season-best and ECAC-qualifying time of 3:52.69 to place 11th.
The Owls are back on the track Saturday at the Hawk Games at Maryland-Eastern Shore.
