HAIRSTON EARNS FIRST BIG FIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR

PHILADELPHIA- After leading the Owls to two tough Atlantic 10 wins last week, sophomore Kamesha Hairston was named the Big Five Player of the Week for the week ending January 31. This is the first Big 5 Player of the Week nod for Hairston.
Hairston averaged 22.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg this week to lead the #24/25 Owls to two key victories over George Washington and Xavier. Against Xavier, Hairston scored a career-high 31 points off of 15-19 shooting and hit a last second shot at the buzzer to give Temple its 14th-straight win and stay undefeated in A-10 play. Hairston tied her previous career high of 16 points in the first half and added five steals. Against GW, Hairston earned a double-double with 13 points and 10 defensive rebounds to give TU the 72-64 win. Hairston is averaging 12.9 ppg and 5.9 rpg.
Temple is 17-3 overall and 9-0 in the Atlantic 10 and is currently on a 14-game winning streak. The streak is tied for the longest in the country.
