BALANCED EFFORT PACES TEMPLE WOMEN AT DELAWARE INVITATIONAL

NEWARK, DE--A balanced effort in the long sprints and jumps paced the Temple women's track team at the Delaware Invitational on Friday. Junior Aisha Raheem (500m, 1:22.14) and freshman Mary Claire Curran (800m, 2:30.47) each finished third in their respective events and in the jumps, sophomore Kenesha Oldacre (long jump, 5.08m) and senior Jillian Faulks (triple jump, 10.23m) also earned third place finishes.

Sophomore Rachel Johnson aided with a fourth place showing in the 500m with a time of 1:23.40. The 4x400 relay also finished second behind Maryland in 4:12.98.

There was no team scoring in the invitational that included La Salle, Coppin State, Navy, Delaware State, Cabrini and the host Blue Hens.

Temple returns to action next Sunday at the Albany Great Dane Classic.
