VOLLEYBALL ENDS SEASON WITH 3-1 LOSS TO AMERICAN

PHILADELPHIA-Despite a double-double from senior captain Zhen Jia Liu, the Temple women's volleyball team could not topple the visiting American University Eagles in the final match of the Temple Thanksgiving Invitational. The Eagles defeated the Owls, 3-1, with game scores of 30-28, 27-30, 30-25, 30-27. Liu garnered a match-high 20 kills and 14 digs. Temple ends the season with a 23-13 overall record, while the Eagles, who captured the Patriot League Championship, head to the NCAA Tournament with a record of 25-9.
Stephanie Buynovsky also tallied double digit kills with 11 and just two errors for a .324 hitting percentage. Yue Liu led Temple with 15 digs, while Ying Sun Ling contributed 14. Maira Mogollon dished 34 assists and Linsey Morningstar had 12. Danielle Bablich led all blockers with six blocks.
Elizabeth Maloney and Cutrina Biddulph each had 16 kills to lead four Eagles in double figures. Rubena Sukaj earned a double-double with 15 kills and 13 digs, while Jennifer Cosco and Logan Striebel chipped in with 13 and 10 digs, respectively.
