MOBILE, AL -- Jennifer Benson, a junior marketing major at Temple University, represented the Owls at the GMAC Bowl Wednesday evening, winning a brand new 2007 Saturn Sky Roadster. The Susquehanna, Pa. native bested three other students in a halftime contest for the fastest to dress in full football gear.
"I kept thinking that this kind type of stuff does not happen to me," said Benson, who won a similar contest at Temple's home football game against Toledo on September 17. "It was great. My father was with me and my grandfather drove from Orlando to be with us."
Benson has also represented Temple well away from the gridiron. She owns a 3.88 cumulative grade point average and earned a perfect 4.0 grade point average for the fall 2005 semester.
Toledo won the GMAC Bowl, defeating UTEP, 45-13. Temple is in its first year as an affiliate member of the Mid-American Conference.
