PHILADELPHIA - Senior goalkeeper Patrick Hannigan and senior midfielder Steven Wacker were selected by the Philadelphia Kixx in the 2005 Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) College Draft, held via teleconference on Tuesday, February 22. Hannigan was selected in the first round with the eighth overall pick, while Wacker went in the fifth round (42nd overall). The Temple stars were the only players taken in the draft from a Philadelphia Soccer Seven school and join Duquesne's Derek MacKenzie as the only players representing Atlantic 10 programs.

A two-time A-10 Defensive Player of the Year and PSS Player of the Year, Hannigan posted an 11-7-2 record in goal for the Owls in 2004 with a Soccer Seven high eight shutouts.  He made 89 saves for a .817 percentage and compiled a 1.00 goals against average.  For his career, he compiled 30 wins and 20 shutouts while posting a 1.41 goals against average and a .798 save percentage.

Hannigan, who also earned Academic All-Atlantic 10 Conference status in 2003, was a two-time all-Region selection and was selected by the MetroStars in the 2005 MLS Draft.  The Philadelphia native (Frankford HS) helped the Owls post consecutive 10-win seasons.  The 2003 team came within one win (13) of the program record for wins in a season while the 2004 squad posted 12 victories.

Wacker, a four-year starter and team captain, had the best offensive season of his career in 2004.  The Philadelphia native tied for sixth on the Owls in scoring with two goals and four assists for eight points.  He also earned First Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors, helping the Owls post a 12-8-2 record and reach the conference finals for the second straight season.

Academically, Wacker performed equally as well in the classroom. An ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-American, the midfielder was the Philadelphia Soccer Seven Academic Player of the Year and an Academic All-Atlantic 10 selection.

With a 16-11 record, the Kixx are currently tied for first place in the MISL with the Milwaukee Wave.
