#16 WOMEN GO FOR RECORD-BREAKING WIN #23 AT UMASS ON THURSDAY

PHILADELPHIA- The 16th-ranked Temple women (22-3, 14-0 A-10) travel to Massachusetts (13-12, 6-8) on Thursday with the hope of adding one more school record to their already fairytale season. With Sunday's win over Dayton, the Owls, who are currently on a 19-game winning streak, tied a program record for most wins in a season, set during the 1988-89 season.
Ari Moore and Candice Dupree combined for 39 points to lead the #17/19 Owls over the Dayton Flyers, 69-58 on Sunday afternoon. Dupree earned her 12th double-double with 25 points and 12 rebounds, while Moore scored 14 points and had three steals.Kamesha Hairston posted a game-high four steals to go along with her eight points and nine rebounds. Rachel Marcus blocked her first collegiate shot in a career-high nine minutes of action.
Dupree leads the way for TU with 16.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game to pace three Owls in double figures. She is followed by Jordan (13.1 ppg, 4.32 apg), and Hairston (12.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg).
In the teams' last meeting on January 5, 2005, Jennifer Owens, Hairston and Jordan led a balanced attack, all netting 12 points a piece to lead Temple to a 59-43 win. Dupree also netted in double figures, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game-high seven rebounds.
After today's game, the Owls have just one more game remaining in the regular season. Temple returns home to take on Big 5 Rival Saint Joseph's on February 27 at 2 p.m. The match-up with the Hawks will be broadcast live on CN8 from SJU's Fieldhouse.
Massachusetts is coming off of a 55-43 loss to the University of Richmond on Sunday afternoon. Tamara Tatham led the Minutewomen with 11 points, while Kate Mills had 10 points. Tatham had her 11 points on 4-for-4 shooting. She also had four rebounds. Mills also had two blocked shots. Senior Brooke Campbell had seven points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Pam Rosanio leads UMass, averaging 10.7 ppg, while Campbell is tops in rebounding, averaging 8.3 rpg. Katie Nelson has dished 94 assists thus far this season.
