PHILADELPHIA-- The
Outstanding scores were earned by senior Erin Davis (9.550, 2nd on beam), senior Lexi Zafferes (9.675, 3rd on vault), freshman Alycia Petitto (9.675, 2nd on floor exercise), and junior Deidre Mattocks (9.625, 3rd on bars). Along with Mattocks, there were many notable performances on bars. Christine McNeil, Davis, Lindsey Stern, and Zafferes all placed in the top seven.
The Owls improved their record to 11-11 with the victories tonight. Japan is not a recognized NCAA team, therefore its scores are not counted when records are tabulated. The All-Stars had the top individual performer on three apparatus and had five athletes compete all-around, including Chiemi Takeda, who won vault (9.800) and beam (9.575) en route to a first place 38.175 total.
Ursinus' Briana Morrisey won the floor exercise with a 9.700.
A spirited crowd enjoyed watching Zafferes, Angela Vinosky, Katie Domenico, Davis, and Cheryl Cerminaro compete in the final home meet of their careers in Owl Country. A ceremony took place after the competition to recognize the senior student-athletes and their families.
