SENIOR TRIO PACES OWLS AT UMES HAWK GAMES

PRINCESS ANNE, MD -- Seinors Rachel Clinton and Farren Benson turned in top performances as Temple competed at the Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawk Games on Saturday. Clinton won the 60m hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8.53 and also finished third in the 60m dash (7.92). Benson won the triple jump with a season-best leap of 10.99m as the Owls took on Towson, Loyola (Md.), Salisbury, and host UMES.

Sophomore Rachel Johnson won the 400m (1:00.17) while senior Jessica Dunston finished second in the 60m hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8.80. Temple also had second and third place finishes in the 400m by freshman Shanice DePass (1:00.18) and freshman Jessica Starace (1:01.27).

Sophomore Tynisha Gardner placed third in the 200m (25.86) and freshman Cheryl Anscombe was fourth in the 60m dash (8.00) to round out the top individual performances for TU.

The Cherry and White returns to action on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11-12, at the Thompson Invitational at the University of Delaware. The event is the final tune-up before the Atlantic 10 Championships, held February 19 and hosted by Rhode Island.
