#20/22 WOMEN GO FOR SWEET #16 AGAINST SAINT JOSEPH'S ON THURSDAY NIGHT

PHILADELPHIA- The #20/22 ranked Temple women (18-3, 10-0 A-10) are going for consecutive win #16 as they host A-10 and Big 5 rival Saint Joseph's (5-17, 3-7 A-10) on Thursday night at 7 p.m. Tonight's game can be followed live on both the Temple and Saint Joseph's athletic websites.

Kamesha Hairston was the high scorer for #20 Temple for the second game in a row, netting 18 points to lead the Owls to their 15th straight victory, a 75-53 win at Duquesne (7-14, 2-8 A-10) on Sunday afternoon. Hairston, who scored 13 of her 18 points in the second half, also led Temple in rebounding and steals with nine boards and four takeaways, respectively. Candice Dupree tallied 12 points to go along with her season-high five blocks. Cynthia Jordan also netted in double figures, scoring 10 points off of three three-pointers and one foul shot. She dished four assists and added three steals to her double figure scoring. Khadija Bowens and Ashley Morris came off the bench to score nine points apiece.

Dupree leads the way for TU with 16.3 points and 9.2 rebounds per game to pace three Owls in double figures. She is followed by Jordan (13.2 ppg, 4.48 apg), and Hairston (13.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg).

Temple continues its home stand when it hosts Rhode Island on Sunday, February 13th at 2 p.m. The URI game will be shown on CN8.

Saint Joseph's snapped a four-game losing streak and earned its first home victory since the season opener, with a 69-65 victory over Rhode Island on Sunday. The Hawks finished the game with one of their better shooting performances of the year, going 20-of-42 (.476), including 9-of-16 from behind the arc. Maura McBryan posted a career-high 18 points, while Ayahna Cornish and Timisha Gomez added 14 and 11 points, respectively.

The Hawks are led by Cornish, who is averaging 11.8 ppg. Erica Pollock is second on the team in scoring (9.0 ppg) and first in rebounding (5.7 rpg) and blocks (21).

Series History
This is the 58th meeting between the Temple Owls and the Saint Joseph's Hawks. The Hawks lead the series, 19-38, which dates back to 1974. In the teams' last meeting in the Atlantic 10 Tournament final, Temple topped Saint Joe's to win the A-10 title, 53-48 on March 8, 2004.

Bye Bye Birdie
Temple is the first team to clinch a bye in the A-10 Championship. With six games left, the Owls need just one more win to capture at least a share of the East Division Title.
