YOUNG 4X100 RELAY QUALIFIES FOR ECACS AT QUAKER INVITATIONAL

PHILADELPHIA -- Like its counterparts on the men's team, the women's 4x100 relay reached ECAC qualifying standards at the season-opening Quaker Invitational at the University of Pennsylvania. The relay, which finished second in the event in a time of 47.81, was comprised of freshmen Cheryl Anscombe, Natasha Gear, Jessica Starace and Kesha Bivens.
Starace was also solid individually, finishing fourth in the 200m in a time of 26.68. Freshman Uche Ofodile was right on her heels, placing fifth in a time of 26.78. Freshman Shanice DePass was sixth in the 400m (1:00.24) while classmate Shavaun Christian and sophomore Erin Davis finished second and third in the high jump, respectively, by clearing 5'1". Christian was also fifth in the trpile jump (33'6 1/2.")
Temple resumes action next Saturday at the Maryland Invitational in College Park, Md.
