GOLF IN NINTH PLACE AFTER OPENING ROUND OF NAVY INVITATIONAL

ANNAPOLIS, MD -- The Temple men's golf team is in ninth place after shooting a first round, 25-over par 309 during the opening round of the Navy Invitational Saturday, April 16. The 20-team tournament concludes tomorrow on the par 71, 6,556-yard Naval Academy Golf Club.

 

Senior Billy Mullen is in second place, one stroke off the lead, after carding a one-under par 70 on Saturday.

 

Division III power Guilford College is atop the field with a 7-over par 291, while George Washington is in second with a 14-over par 298. Guilford's Colin Clark (69, -2) holds a 1-stroke lead over Mullen in the individual medalist battle.
