WOMEN'S CREW RACES AT THE KNECHT CUP

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ -- Temple women's crew competed at the Knecht Cup on Saturday and Sunday in the Varsity 8, JV8, Novice 8, Novice 4 and quad events. The Varsity 8 and JV 8 advanced from Saturday's heats and semis to Sunday's finals. The Novice boats put out a great race but did not qualify for Sunday's finals.
The Varsity 8 of Sarah Evancho (cox), Stephanie Hanlin (stroke), Rachel Jordan (7-seat), Nicole Warrick (6-seat), Ulana Luciw (5-seat), Leah Silverstein (4-seat), Regina Rahill (3-seat), Callie Gunnet (2-seat), and Kristen Herrmann (bow) finished fourth in the third level final. Colgate won the final with a time of 6:57.7 followed by Villanova (7:00.8), Fordham (7:03.2), Temple (7:04.9), West Virginia (7:06.5) and UConn (7:14.1).
The JV 8 of Robin Wang (cox), Lauren Fattori (stroke), Nicole Toner (7-seat), Alexis Sakulich (6-seat), Emily Smith (5-seat), Pia King (4-seat), Lauren Guttilla (3-seat), Amanda Barr (2-seat), and Dama Lewis (bow) finished sixth in the petite final. Marist won the final in a time of 7:17.3 followed by Buffalo (7:19.6), URI (7:21.9), Delaware (7:23.4), UMass (7:25.9) and Temple (7:40.2).
The Varsity Quad of Lauren Fattori (stroke), Pia King (3-seat), Emily Smith (2-seat), and Alexis Sakulich (bow) raced to a fifth place finish in the straight final. UMass won the final in a time of 7:54.80 followed by Kansas (8:01.30), URI (8:02.10), Army (8:43.30) and Temple (9:05.50).
The Owls race again next weekend in Collingswood, NJ at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.
