OWLS PLACE TIED FOR SIXTH AT GW INVITATIONAL

ISSUE, MD -- The Temple men's golf team finished tied for sixth with a one round, 314 (+26) score at the George Washington Invitational on Sunday, April 3. Day one of the 25-team tournament, played at the par 72, 6,761-yard Swan Point Yacht and Golf Club, was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Senior team captain Billy Mullen led the way for the Cherry & White, finishing tied for seventh with a three-over par 75. It marked the eighth top 10 finish of the Norristown, Pa. native's career. Fellow upperclassmen Patrick O'Neill also performed well in Sunday's slick conditions, shooting a 77 to place tied for 18th in the 130-player field.
Sophomores James Boose and Logan Terry each carded nine-over par 81's to finish tied for 66th place. Senior Matt Roberts posted an 82 to place tied for 76th and round-out the team's scorecard.
Villanova won the tournament with a 303 (+15) score, as the Wildcats had two student--athletes among the four that tied for the individual crown by carding a 73 on Sunday. The host Colonials, IUPUI and Longwood finished tied for second with 305 team efforts.
The average individual score for the tournament was 81.64, while the average team tally registered 320.44.
