GOLF PLACES EIGHTH AT PRINCETON INVITATIONAL

PRINCETON, NJ -- The Temple men's golf team shot a three round, 48-over par 900 (309-294-297) to finish eighth at the 18-team Princeton Invitational played April 8-9 at Springdale Golf Club. Senior team captain Billy Mullen was the Owls' top performer for the third time in as many tournaments this spring, shooting a nine-over 222 (77-72-73) to finish tied for 16th on the par 71, 6,390-yard course.

 

Sophomore James Boose provided the team's next best finish of the tournament, carding a 15-over 228 (77-77-74) to place 38th in the 90-player event. Senior Patrick O'Neill shot a 231 (76-79-76) to finish tied for 47th. Sophomore Logan Terry (87-73-74) and senior Matt Roberts (79-72-83) placed tied for 59th with 21-over, 234 totals to round out the Cherry & White scorecard.

 

George Washington shot an 881 (297-292-292) to edge host Princeton 882 (306-284-292) for the team title. Maryland's John Eades captured individual crown with a one-over 214 (71-69-74) effort.

 

Temple, under the direction of first-year head coach Brian Rogers, returns to the links April 16-17 at the Navy Spring Invitational in Annapolis, Md.
