Durham, NH -- Temple senior Alexis Zafferes posted a 9.125 score on vault to finish 41st in the event Saturday evening at the NCAA Northeast Regional Women's Gymnastics Championships.
Zafferes qualified to compete at the Northeast Regional with a 9.606 average on vault. Her season-high in the event is a 9.725. The last Temple women's gymnast to qualify for NCAA Regionals was Cicely Warrington, who competed all-around in 2002.
Temple, ranked ninth in the Northeast Region, will be participating in the USA Gymnastics National Championships, hosted by Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y., April 14-16. The Cherry & White competed at USAG's last season and placed fourth.
