WOMEN'S TRACK IN SEVENTH AFTER ONE DAY OF COMPETITION AT A-10S

RICHMOND, VA -- After one day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Temple women's track team stands in seventh place and will send several athletes to the finals on Sunday. Senior Jessica Dunston ran a season best time in the 100m hurdles (14.68) and will be the top seed in tomorrow's finals.
Freshman Cheryl Anscombe had a season-best in the 100m dash (12.30) and finished sixth in the preliminary heat. Like Dunston, she advances to tomorrow's finals.
Temple also took third and fourth in the long jump as senior Farren Benson (18'5") and freshman Judy Wong (17'11 1/2") both recorded season bests. Benson's leap was the top in the conference this season.
Duquense and Rhode Island lead the team scoring (64) after one day of competition. They are followed by Richmond (55), Massachusetts (28.5), Dayton (25), La Salle (22), Temple (18.5), Fordham (17), Saint Joseph's (15) and Xavier (3).
Competition begins on Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m.
