PHILADELPHIA - Temple's Logan Terry shot a tournament record three under par 138 to win the 2005 Montgomery County Amateur, played August 6-7. The junior shot a three-under 67 in Saturday's opening round at Jefferson Golf Club before carding an even-par 71 Sunday at Blue Bell Country Club to capture the crown.

Terry won the tournament by five strokes over former Temple teammate Billy Mullen, who finished tied for second at two-over-par 143. Mullen completed his eligibility this past spring while serving as team captain under first-year head coach Brian Rogers.

Terry was named to the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Academic All-Conference team in the spring. He competed in all 12 events during the 2004-05 season and had a 77.0 stroke average based on 2,042 strokes in 26.5 rounds. He finished tied for ninth at The McLaughlin in September with a nine-over 219 (70-77-72) and shot a career low 68 in the second round of the James Madison Invitational in October en route to a 17th place finish. Terry placed tied for 18th at the Scotty Duncan Memorial (May 1-2) to help Temple to the tournament title and tied for 25th at the A-10 Championship with a 1.5-round 117. He played 14 rounds at 76 or better and six rounds at 73 or better in 2004-05.

Terry has played in every tournament (24 events) in his two seasons at Temple and has a 76.7 career stroke average and five career top 10 finishes. He was named an A-10 Rookie of the Week twice during his freshman season (2003-04).
