MORGANTOWN, WV -- The Temple University men's soccer team dropped its season opener to Marshall, 2-1, at West Virginia's Labor Day Shootout Thursday afternoon. The Owls (0-1) will take on the host Mountaineers (1-0) on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the tournament.

Freshman James Suevo scored his first collegiate goal, tying the match at 1-1 in the 64th minute on a header in the box.  Senior Tony Donatelli  assisted on the play.  The Thundering Herd had opened the contest with a goal by Kirk Gibson at the 14-minute mark.

Jeremy Ashe scored what would be the game-winner with 73:09 on the clock. Temple had chances, including a missed penalty kick by the normally reliable Donatelli in the opening minutes of the second half, but MU keeper Greg Terhune (six saves) was up to the challenge.

Freshman Bryant Hosler played well in goal, starting in place of an injured Tony Pratico.  Hosler made seven saves in his intercollegiate debut.
