PISCATAWAY, NJ -- The Temple men's golf team, in its second tournament of the fall season, shot a 893 (297-298-298) to finish 12th out of 13 teams at the Rutgers Invitational, played September 16-17 at the Rutgers University Golf Course. Junior James Boose shot a 218 (72-20-76) to finish tied for 18th in the 71-player field.

 

Columbia won the tournament with an 852 (282-280-290) score on the par 71, 6,337 yard course. The Lions were four strokes better than second place St. John's (856) and 11 strokes better than host Rutgers, who placed third with an 863 effort.

 

Delaware's Joe McLister won the individual crown, carding a 208 (72-67-69) to finish the event five under par. Columbia's Chris Condello and Rutgers' Seth Hirschorn placed tied for second with 210 efforts. Six players concluded the tournament with under par outings overall.

 

Temple junior Logan Terry shot a 220 (75-75-70) to finish tied for 25th. Freshman Pat Rugg (t-55th, 78-78-74=230), sophomore A.J. Tomasello (63rd, 81-75-78=234) and freshman Adam Pfifer (64th, 72-79-84=235) rounded-out the Cherry & White scorecard.

 

Temple, under the direction of second-year head coach Brian Rogers, returns to the links for the Towson Invitational at Musket Ridge Golf Club in Myersville, Md. on Monday September 19.
