MAURO'S COACHING DEBUT SUCCESSFUL AS MEN'S TENNIS DOWNS NJIT

NEWARK, NJ - First year head coach Steve Mauro had a successful debut as the Temple men's tennis coach, guiding host team to a win at New Jersey Institute of Technology, 7-0, Wednesday afternoon. 

 

Newcomers Milan Juricka, Philip Gegenheimer and Zach Tobias also made successful Owl debuts, winning at first, third and fourth singles, respectively.  The trio, along with fellow newcomer Rob Spencer also won their doubles matches.  Junior Matt Struble too his second singles match and teamed with Tobias for a win at second doubles.  Senior Jon Sy won at fifth singles and combined with Juricka to take the first doubles position.  Sophomore Kris Celtnieks won his sixth singles match to complete the sweep.

 

The Owls compete at the Georgetown Invitational this weekend.
