PHILADELPHIA - Yhonny Murray, one of Temple University's top men's tennis players over the last four years, joins the Owls staff as an assistant coach for the 2005-06 season, announced first-year head coach Steve Mauro.

Murray, a native of Newark, N.J. and graduate of St. Benedict's, compiled a 29-25 singles mark from 2002 through 2005, playing mainly at the number two position.  He also posted a career 41-31 won-loss mark in doubles competition, primarily at the number one slot.  His best season came as a junior in 2004 when he won 14 doubles matches with partner Tyler Wynne against just four losses.  That year he also had his best singles winning percentage (.778) with seven wins and just two losses.
