MEN'S TENNIS COMPETES AT GEORGETOWN INVITATIONAL

WASHINGTON, DC--The Temple men's tennis team competed in the Georgetown Invitational at Washington, D.C. this past weekend. Senior Milan Juricka led the Owls, posting three wins on the tournament as he reached the finals in Flight A. Juricka opened play with a win over George Washington's Sam Salyer, 4-6, 6-1, 11-9. He then defeated Georgetown's Etienne Paris 6-2, 6-3 and Howard's Ken Brown 6-1, 7-5 before falling to George Washington's Mustafa Genscoy 6-3, 6-1 in the finals.
Sophomore Phil Gegenheimer also had a successful weekend for the Owls with three wins in Flight B. He won his first match Loyola's Sean Wall 6-2, 6-0. He also defeated Mount St. Mary's Bobby Cozzillio 6-4, 6-1 and Georgetown's Adam Gross 6-2, 6-3 to reach the semifinals.
Zach Tobias also posted wins in Flight B as he went 2-1 on the tournament. Kris Celtnieks posted a 1-2 record in Flight C.
The Owls will be back in action on Wednesday, September 28 when they travel to St. Francis (NY) for a 4:00 p.m. match.
