CANDICE DUPREE NAMED BIG FIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA-After leading Temple to its 24th consecutive Atlantic 10 victory and its 13th straight over a Big 5 opponent, senior Candice Dupree has been named the Big 5 Player of the Week.
Dupree netted a season-high 29 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead #24/23 Temple to a 66-64 overtime win against La Salle. The senior All-America candidate was an offensive powerhouse for the Owls, accounting for 13 of Temple's 19 points scored by the 15 minute mark of the first half. She added 16 points in the second half, including a three point play with 3 seconds remaining in overtime to seal the win for the Owls. Dupree also had team-highs of four assists, three blocks and four steals. Temple also improves to 3-0 in Big 5 play and needs just one more win to secure itself its second-straight City series title. Dupree is averaging 16.7 ppg and 9.2 rpg.
Temple is currently ranked #19 in the latest Associated Press poll and has posted a 10-3 overall record and a 2-0 mark in the Atlantic 10.
