WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS PLACES SIXTH AT GEORGE WASHINGTON INVITATIONAL

WASHINGTON, DC -- The Temple women's gymnastics team placed sixth out of six schools with a 181.250 score at the George Washington Invitational on Thursday at the Smith Center. North Carolina swept all four events and had the individual champion on each apparatus to finish first with a 192.475 score. the host Colonials held the second place spot with a 189.500, while William & Mary claimed the third with a mark of 184.875.
The Owls' best finish belonged to freshman Natasha Crawford who placed third in all-around with a score of 37.650. Crawford found a spot in the top 10 in the bars with a score of 9.525. Junior Noelle Moore contributed a top 10 performance, ranking fourth in the beam event while freshman Winter Sneed placed sixth.
Temple's best event was on the beam, where the team posted a 46.925 score to finish fourth. The Owls placed fifth on vault (46.650) and sixth in both bars (43.725) and floor (43.950).
UNC's Christine Robella was the all-around winner with a total of 38.925, while her teammate, All-American Courtney Bumpers, placed second with a score of 38.150. The Owls fielded two all-around competitors, Crawford, and senior Sarah Liebowitz, who placed eighth.
Temple (0-5), under the direction of 21-year head coach Ken Anderson, returns to action on January 25 versus Rutgers in East Brunswick, NJ at 7:00 PM
