GARDNER, 4X400 REACH ECAC STANDARDS AT NYC GOTHAM CUP

NEW YORK, NY - Junior Tynisha Gardner qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 400m as the Temple women's indoor track and field team finished 12th at the NYC Gotham Cup at the New Balance Track and Field Center. Gardner finished fourth in a time of 57.13.
Gardner also ran the opening leg of the 4x400 relay that nearly met ECAC standards with a third place finish. She joined sophomore Shanice DePass, freshman Devon DuPont and sophomore Cheryl Anscombe to run a season-best time of 3:54.63.
DePass and DuPont also were strong in the 500m finishing seventh (1:17.55) and ninth (1:18.43) in the event. Both were season-best times. Junior Erin Davis placed sixth in the high jump (5'3).
Villanova (26) defeated Princeton (25), Quinnipiac (23), Lafayette (21) and St. John's (16) to earn team honors.
Temple returns to the Armory on Friday at the Albany Great Dane Classic.
