TEMPLE PLACES SECOND IN HOME OPENER QUAD MEET

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's gymnastics team placed second with 183.425 score Saturday in a home quad-meet at McGonigle Hall. Towson posted a 189.625 score to win the event, while Bridgeport finished third with a 176.325 and Ursinus finished last with a 174.725 showing.

Desiree Meredith was the Owls top event finish with a 9.425 on vault. Alycia Petitto also performed well on the apparatus, turning-in a 9.350, as TU totaled a 46.400 on vault, its best event of the evening.

Senior co-captain Lindsey Stern, freshman Winter Sneed and junior Noelle Moore also provided strong showings for the Cherry & White. Stern finished with a season high 9.425 on bars and 9.450 on floor. Sneed led her team on the beam event with a 9.550 effort, tying for second place for with Ursinus's Bree Morrissey. Moore's 9.700 showing on the floor exercise earned her second place in this evening's competition and the team's highest score.

Temple (2-7) will compete in another quad meet on February 4. The Owls, under the direction of 21-year head coach Ken Anderson, return to action at host New Hampshire against Minnesota and Yale.
