Stephanides Leads Temple at Cornell Fall Invitational

ITHACA, NY - Freshman Pavlos Stephanides advanced to the quarterfinals at the Cornell Fall Invitational Friday afternoon to lead the Temple men's tennis team. Stephanides was one of three Owls that won singles matches on the day.
Stephanides downed Marshall Wheeler from Colgate, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3, in his lone singles match of the day. Sophomore Eduardo Saavedra defeated Colgate's Tyler Deck, 6-3, 6-4, in his singles match whole junior Zach Tobias split two singles matches, defeating Reina Kohtake of Binghamton, 7-6, 6-4, before falling to Richard Offutt of Cornell, 6-3, 6-3. Junior Philip Gegenheimer, sophomore Nathan Spunda and freshman Gonzalo De Villa all lost in singles.
The Owls did not fare as well at doubles, falling in all three matches on the day.
The Invitational continues on Saturday.
