Nathan Spunda Wins Consolation Singles Title At Cornell Fall Invitational

ITHACA, NY - Sophomore Nathan Spunda won all three of his matches Saturday to win the consolation singles championshp of flight A at the Cornell Fall Invitational. Junior Philip Gegenheimer also won his singles match as the Owls posted a 4-2 record on the day.
Spunda easily bested Antonio Oliver of Marist, 8-1, to start the day. Then he won close matches against Adrian Lai of Navy, 9-7, and then Priit Gross of Fairleigh Dickinson, 8-6. Gross had earlier defeated Temple sophomore Eduardo Saavedra, 8-1
Gegenheimer downed Michael Yassky of Colgate, 8-2 while Temple freshman Gonzalo De Villa lost to Jeff Nguyen of Marist, 8-4.
Temple has now completed its fall season. The owls next take the court at the VCU Invitational on January 19.
