PHILADELPHIA- Temple (6-4) opens up Big Five play tomorrow when it travels to Villanova (5-5) for its last game before the Christmas break.Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. This is the 36th meeting between the Temple Owls and the Villanova Wildcats. The Wildcats lead the Big 5 series, 24-11, which dates back to the 1975 season. In the teams' last meeting on December 22, 2005, Temple defeated `Nova, 52-43.

Lady Comfort led four Temple players in double figures with 22 points as the Owls rolled over Western Michigan, 78-35, on Tuesday night. TU set two new building records, as they held the Broncos to a 22.8% shooting percentage, thanks to just 10 points in the second half. They also out-rebounded WMU, 57-35, edging the old Liacouras Center record for rebounding margin (+21).

Kamesha Hairston earned her fifth double-double with 12 points and 11 boards, while Fatima Maddox and LaKeisha Eaddy chipped in with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Eaddy, who dished a game-high six assists, held the nation's top scorer Carrie Moore to just one field goal, well below her 27.3 point average.

Hairston leads Temple in scoring and rebounding, averaging 21.3 ppg and 9.9 rpg. Maddox is second with 13.5 ppg and Comfort is third, averaging 13.1 ppg. Freshmen Jasmine Stone and Eaddy continue to put up great numbers, with Stone second in rebounding (6.0rpg) and Eaddy first in assists (40).

Villanova returns to action after a 12-day layoff. The Wildcats are coming off of a 59-40 win on the road at Binghamton on Dec. 10. Briana Weiss scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the first half and Villanova shot 58 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes. Maria Getty added four three-pointers in the game to finish with 13 points. Jackie Adamshick notched her fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Adamshick leads the Wildcats in scoring (14.6 ppg), rebounding (9.6 rpg) and assists (25), while Lisa Karcic is second with 12.3 ppg.

Tonight is Temple's first Big Five match-up of the year. The Wildcats are currently 1-1 in Big Five play after losing at home to La Salle, 74-62, on Nov. 14 and defeating Penn, 57-50, on Dec. 3.

Temple has won the last two Philadelphia Big Five titles and three of the last five. The Owls have gone a perfect 4-0 through the city series for two straight seasons. This is their first Big Five match-up of the year.
