2.22.06 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA-Senior All-America candidate Candice Dupree earned her fourth Big Five Player of the Week honor, after averaging 22 ppg and 12.5 rpg to lead Temple to a 2-0 week.
Dupree proved why there should be a night named in her honor after pouring in 20 points and grabbing a career-high 17 rebounds on a night tabbed Candice Dupree night in which the Owls defeated Saint Joseph's 59-53 to claim their second consecutive Big 5 title. Dupree recorded a double double before the intermission as she went into the locker room with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Temple went on to dominate A-10 foe Dayton, 70-36 in Sunday behind 24 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes from Dupree. She scored 16 points in the first half to put the Owls ahead 43-25 at the break.
Dupree is averaging 16.6 ppg and 8.5 rpg.
