WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS TAKES FIRST IN TRI-MEET AT URSINUS

COLLEGEVILLE, PA - The Temple women's gymnastics team won three of four events en route to a 184.400 score to defeat host Ursinus (178.850) and West Chester (175.350) at Helferrich Hall Friday evening. The Owls claimed victory on the vault, with sophomore Desiree Meredith and junior Jillian Kornett sharing the top position (9.525). The Owls improve to 4-13.
Senior co-captain Deidre Mattocks earned first on bars, turning-in a 9.425 as the Owls had the individual winner on two apparati. The Bears' Bree Morrisey posted a 9.600 to win the floor event. West Chester's Joell Koller logged a 9.600 on the beam, winning the top spot.
Junior Sarah Leibowitz captured the all-around with a 36.800 score. Liebowitz was the lone all-around competitor fielded by the Cherry and White.
The Owls return to action this Sunday at 2 noon when they travel to
