DURHAM, NH -- The Temple women's gymnastics team finished fourth with a 182.200 score at the Fox Run Invitational hosted by the University of New Hampshire at the Whittemore Center Arena. The host Wildcats placed first with a 194.375 while Minnesota finished with a 193.875, followed by Yale scoring a 187.525.
Senior Co-Captain Lindsey Stern provided the Owls' best event finish, posting a 9.550 on the beam to finish 13th. Fellow upperclassman Sarah Liebowitz also performed well, turning in a 9.400.
On bars, Temple's top score went to Nicole Catrambone who finished with a 9.425. Owl freshmen Nikki Berrian and Natasha Crawford placed in the top 20 scoring 9.175 and 9.025 respectively. Stern and Liebowitz also fell in the top 20 competitors on the apparatus, with Liebowitz turning in a 9.150 performance and Stern finishing with a 9.050.
Alycia Petitto brought in the Cherry and White's high score on the vault, sharing a 9.350 with Minnesota's Kim Womack and Yale's Kristen Campbell. Brittany Matthews and Catrambone tied for 18th place with a 9.325. On the floor exercise, Noelle Moore found the team's high mark with a 9.375.
New Hampshire earned individual crowns in three of four events. Amanda Hall won two events, scoring an impressive 9.900 on the floor exercise and earning a 9.850 on the vault. Mariana Pena Trestini finished first on beam, turning in a 9.850 performance. Minnesota's Laura Johnson took first place honors on the bars, contributing a 9.900.
The Owls next take on their cross-town rivals, the University of Pennsylvania Quakers on Wednesday, February 8 at 6:00 pm. The Cherry and White return home for a tri-meet against Rhode Island and West Chester on Sunday, February 12.
