BOWENS EARNS FIRST CAREER BIG FIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR

PHILADELPHIA- Senior guard Khadija Bowens was named the Big Five Co-Player of the Week for the week ending February 5. This is the first Player of the Week honor of Bowens' career.

Bowens averaged 15.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in leading #20 Temple to a 2-0 week. The Owls outscored their opponents 144-90, topping Richmond 65-46 and defeating Duquesne 79-44. Bowens netted 15 points, grabbed seven boards and had three assists in aiding her team over the Spiders. She went on to score 14 of her 16 total points in the first half against the Dukes. She is averaging 10.0 ppg and 4.2 rpg. She has dished out a team high 72 assists thus far this season.

The Owls are currently 17-5 overall, 8-2 in the Atlantic 10 and 3-0 in Big Five play. Temple needs a win over Saint Joseph's on February 17th to win its second straight city series crown.
