MEN'S TENNIS BLANKS RIDER, 7-0, FOR 12TH WIN

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ -- The Temple men's tennis team posted its third straight win, blanking host Rider, 7-0, to up its record to 12-4 under first-year head coach Steve Mauro. The 12 wins is the most by an Owl team since the 1996-97 squad posted a 17-8 mark.
Senior Milan Juricka and junior Matt Struble won in straight sets in first and second singles. Sophomore Philip Gegenheimer came back to defeat Casey Jedlinski, 4-6, 6-0 (10-0) in the third singles match. Freshman Eduardo Saavedra, sophomore Zach Tobias and sophomore Kris Celtnieks completed the singles sweep with straight set victories at fourth through sixth singles.
Juricka and Gegenheimer posted an 8-0 shutout win at first doubles with Tobias and senior Jon Sy winning at second doubles, 8-5. Struble and Saavedra won at third doubles, 8-1.
Temple next plays at Fordham on Sunday, March 26 (1:00 p.m.).
