PHILADELPHIA -- Senior Tony Donatelli was named the Most Valuable Player of the Temple University men's soccer team at the program's annual award's banquet held at Colleen's on the Parkway Wednesday night.  Donatelli was one of three Owls honored at the banquet.  Senior Joe Brocker was honored along with Donatelli with the captain's award while senior Kevin Gallagher was a dual recipient, earning the Dr. William "Pete" Leaness Spirit Award and the Owl Club Academic Award.

Donatelli, who was drafted by the Houston 1836 of the MLS and the Philadelphia KiX of the MISL, capped a stellar collegiate career by leading the Philadelphia Soccer Seven in scoring for the second consecutive season and earning the 2005 League Player of the Year award.  He was also named first team All-Atlantic 10 Conference for the second straight year and first team All-Mid-Atlantic Region.  He finished his senior year with six goals and five assists for 17 points and leaves Temple owning the school single season (nine, 2004) and career (20) assist marks.

Brocker, a three-time first team all-Soccer Seven, earned first team All-Atlantic 10 Conference honors as a senior, capping a fine career.  The team co-captain helped lead a defense that compiled 23 shutouts over the last three seasons.

Gallagher, a pre-med major, saved his best season for his last, starting eight of the 15 matches he played at forward.
