3.9.06 | Men's Soccer
PHILADELPHIA -- Temple senior midfielder Tony Donatelli was selected with the sixth pick (sixth overall) of the Territorial Round by the Philadelphia KiXX of the Major Indoor Soccer League. It marked the second consecutive year that the KiXX picked up a Temple product in the territorial round as the club led off its 2005 draft by taking former Owl goalkeeper Patrick Hannigan.
Donatelli, a Glenside native, capped a stellar collegiate career by leading the Philadelphia Soccer Seven in scoring for the second consecutive season and earning the 2005 League Player of the Year award. He was also named first team All-Atlantic 10 Conference for the second straight year and first team All-Mid-Atlantic Region. He finished his senior year with six goals and five assists for 17 points and leaves Temple owning the school single season (nine, 2004) and career (21) assist marks.
Donatelli, who was also selected by the expansion Houston 1836 with the eighth pick of the third round in Major League Soccer's (MLS) supplemental draft, joins former Temple teammate Steven Wacker (2001-04), who is currently playing for with the KiXX.
