XAVIER TOPS TEMPLE IN MEN'S TENNIS

PHILADELPHIA -- Xavier topped Temple, 4-2, in men's tennis Saturday at the Cheltenham Tennis Center to end the Owls perfect regular season against Atlantic 10 Conference opponents. Temple is now 14-6 overall and 4-1 against A-10 teams. Xavier is now 15-6, 6-2 against A-10 teams.
Senior Daniel Davis and freshman Eduardo Saavedra recorded Temple's points in the match with wins at third and sixth singles, respectively. Davis defeated Oliver Marinkovic, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 while Saavedra bested Mike Dieciuc, 7-6, 6-4.
The teams did not play doubles as the match was already decided.
Temple next plays at Villanova on April 4.
